The paramount ruler of Onitsha, Anambra State, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, has revealed how he was saved from boarding the attacked Abuja-Kaduna train last Monday.
Speaking at an event of Igbo leaders under the aegis of Ahamefuna socio-cultural organisation in Enugu, on Saturday, Igwe Achebe said he was meant to be an occupant of the train but a last-minute telephone call made him miss the train ride.
The monarch stated that he did not board the train because the phone call informed him of an emergency.
“I was among the passengers meant to be on the train last Monday because I had a meeting I was supposed to attend. I was already at the train station when I got a call over an emergency and I had to leave the station to attend to it,” the monarch said.
