Ondo State governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s governorship election, Rotimi Akeredolu is leading his closest challenger, Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with over 65,000 votes.
According to the results the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared at the collation centres of seven local government areas, Akeredolu has polled 133,582 votes while Jegede is trailing with 67,746, leaving a margin of 65,836.
The deputy governor of the State and candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Agboola Ajayi, came a distant third with 19,540 votes.
