The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has debunked reports that its warehouse in Abuja was looted, on Sunday.
The agency’s Head of Information Unit, Mr. Ezekiel Manzo, dismissed the reports in a short statement on Sunday.
He said that all NEMA’s warehouses are intact.
“NEMA’s attention has been drawn to media reports about a looted warehouse in the Federal Capital Territory and we want to categorically clarify that the looted warehouse does not belong to NEMA.
“However, the agency sympathises with the owner of the looted warehouse.
“And in view of this circumstance, the DG NEMA has directed the Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to work with security agencies to provide security around NEMA’s warehouses nationwide,” Manzo said.
He added that the agency’s warehouse is not at the location reported.
Some residents had on Sunday looted a warehouse located at Phase 3 Region of FCT, reportedly belonging to NEMA over the current economic hardship across the country.
