Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), has commended the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for donating two trucks to the agency.
Executive Secretary of OYSHIA, Dr Sola Akande, gave the commendation while featuring on a radio programme in Ibadan at the weekend.
He said OYSHIA has never had this type of political support since its establishment.
“I want to again celebrate the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde this morning. We’ve started having stakeholders meeting towards enrolling 100,000 lives into SAfER and His Excellency again surprised us when he said he is going to donate two trucks to us to be able to fasttrack our navigating the rural areas to enrol people.
“He promised to give us two trucks. I want to celebrate him. The truth of the matter is that OYSHIA has never had this type of political support since establishment. We have never had this governmental support and never had this personal support from a governor.
“If we have two trucks, that will go a long way because,m the plan is to mop up 100,000 within three months and logistics could have been a major challenge but with this now, in addition to the trucks we already have, it would be easier for us.
“We want to ensure that we get the poor of the poorest to come on board and that is why there is need for us to go to all those areas that are difficult to navigate,” Akande said.
