It has been two weeks since lovers, fans and followers of ace radio man, Edmund Obilo, heard him on radio.
State Affairs, his popular Saturday morning current affairs programme on Splash FM Ibadan, happened today again without him and listeners started making serious enquiries, hoping that the controversial and heartbreaking exits he has made in the past had not occured again.
But Saturday evening, he took to his Facebook page to explain that he was absent due to health challenges for which he had surgery.
“Hello, I have not been on radio in the past two weeks due to health challenges. I had surgery. I am recuperating. I will be back on radio soon.
“Thanks for your concern,” he wrote.
Obilo, who once ruled South West airwaves with programmes like Voices, Bulls Eye and Economic Searchlight on Splash FM, has left the scene a couple of times in controversial circumstances, some of which were linked to the critical interviews on those programmes.
After leaving Splash FM, he renamed Voices and took it to Inspiration FM as State of the Nation. He however returned to Splash FM last year with the programme now known as State Affairs.
Obilo, who challeges the status quo with insightful and analytical programmes runs several talk shows with the name, Twinkle, on the internet.
