A reliable source within Oyo State political circle has told Newspeakonline that some of the leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State touted to be returning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) are not honest with national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
According to the source, rather than actually planning to return, they are working with the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
The source further explained that the fact that they honoured Tinubu’s invitation and listened to him did not mean that they will return to the APC as requested of them. It said many of the National Assembly members who lost in the February 23 election have agreed to work with Makinde
“APC has a lot of work to do. Those who lost in the last election are not obviously happy with the APC at all. Many of them, especially many of the National Assembly members, are deep with Seyi Makinde right now to ensure that the APC loses the governorship election. They may not announce it openly but that is what they are doing. So, APC should not totally believe that they are back or coming back,” the source said.
Newspeakonline reported earlier that some of the ADC members who joined from the APC Unity Forum platform have agreed to return to the APC.
