In retaliation, some youths in the area hijacked any motorcycle in sight and set them ablaze.

Lagos State Police  Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident,  told Channels Television, that the Divisional Police Officer in the area, Folorunsho Gabriel, responded to the emergency situation promptly.

He said the Police team rescued  the suspect from  mob attack and evacuated  the corpse from the scene.

According to Hundeyin, despite police intervention, the youths  attacked  motorcycle owners and burnt their means of livelihood.

He condemned the act of jungle justice, warning that anyone caught will be dealt with in line with the dictates of the law.

The police spokesperson added that normalcy  has has been  restored  to the area, adding that security operatives are on ground to forestall break down of law and order.
