Twitter has agreed a deal with Sky Sports to show Premier League video clips in the 2016/17 season. The deal is to show action as it happens to fans in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
According to reports, goals and other key incidents will be made available to Twitter users within minutes.
The clips will be posted on Sky’s @SkyFootball account, while highlights of Premier League and Football League matches will be made available after matches.
David Gibbs, the digital director for Sky Sports and Sky News, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with Twitter to bring in-game clips to football fans across the UK & Ireland as part of our biggest ever season of football.
“With more than 30 million users across a variety of platforms, Sky Sports is already the number one digital destination for sports in the UK.
“By expanding our partnership with Twitter, we can bring even more great action to an even bigger audience.”
It would be recalled that clips of action from Euro 2016 and Wimbledon were published on Twitter.
