A 200 level student of the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ibadan (UI), Esther Olabisi, has won the maiden edition of Gospel Groove Talent Quest (GGTQ).
Olabisi emerged winner of the music talent hunt show on Saturday, September 2, 2023, and walked away with N300 million worth of prizes, including a cash prize of N10 million, a brand new car, a three-year recording deal and other prizes.
According to the sponsors, EeZee Concept, the talent hunt show is aimed at discovering, empowering and growing young gospel music artists with a balance of ministry and industry principles.
Speaking at the grand finale, Ben Ogbeiwi, the Project Manager of the show, said GGTQ is designed to give particpants the opportunity to build a professional music career equipped with sound ministry values for the kingdom of God as a gospel music artiste.
“Our desire for this initiative is to create global platform that will produce professional and resourceful gospel music artistes with a burning passion to expand God’s kingdom through Jesus Christ. The winner will receive N300 million worth of prizes, which include a car, a cash prize of N10 million and a three year-year recording deal among other consolation prizes,” he said.
The competition, which started in June with over 100 participants across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria, was concluded on Saturday, September 2, with Olabisi emerging as the overall winner at the grand finale held in Lagos.
