The Ondo State House of Assembly, on Thursday, withdrew the appeal against the deputy governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had on September 26 restrained the Ondo State Governor, Chief Judge, House of Assembly, Speaker, and others from proceeding with their planned impeachment of Aiyedatiwa pending the determination of a motion on notice for interlocutory injunctions.
But the Speaker and the House of Assembly on October 3, 2023, filed an appeal against the Hogh Court ruling.
However, during Thursday’s proceedings at the Appeal Court, counsel to the applicants, Remi Olatubora (SAN), told the court that the parties in the matter have found a political solution to the issue.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had last Friday intervened in the political crisis rocking Ondo State, and urged all parties involved to maintain status quo.
