The Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Dr Salihu Lukman, has resigned as crisis over the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention rages on
Lukman, according to Daily Trust, resigned on Monday following a sharp division among the APC governors during their meeting in Abuja, on Sunday night.
It was gathered that Lukman has already submitted his letter of resignation to the Chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu.
The medium reported that some governors at the meeting wanted Lukman to either resign or be sacked, hence his decision to resign.
While majority of the governors wanted him to remain as the forum’s DG, a few others insisted he must go.
He was accused of being controversial on issues concerning the party, as some of the statements he issued appeared antagonistic to the leadership of the party.
