Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the immediate removal of Hon. Hassan Atawodi as the transition chairman of Ofu Local Government Area of the state.
This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State (SSG), Dr. Folashade Ayoade.
According to Ayoade, the governor has approved the appointment of Musa Muhammed Lawal as the transition chairman of Ofu Local Government Area with immediate effect.
It was learnt that Atawodi was sacked for diverting state government’s palliatives meant for his local government to another place.
Ayoade directed Atawodi to submit all government property in his possession to the new transition chairman.
She also asked Atawodi to hand over all the affairs of the council and submit a handover note to the new transition chairman immediately.
“His removal was in line with zero tolerance of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s fight against corruption,” the SSG said.
