Hon Adedapo Lam-Adesina, said on Monday that the people of Ibadanland witnessed a lot of development during the reign of late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana.
He spoke when he paid a condolence visit to the Monatan private residence of the late monarch. He was received by Olori Moriyike Odulana.
According to the lawmaker who represents Ibadan North East /Ibadan South East federal constituency at the House of Representatives, it was so unfortunate the late monarch didn’t live to witness the creation of Ibadan State which he said was topmost on his heart.
The son of late former Oyo Governor, Lam Adesina, however, explained that he was happy that the second term jinx that no governor can govern Oyo State twice was broken during the reign of Oba Odulana, adding that Governor Abiola Ajimobi deserved the votes showered on him during the last gubernatorial election in the State.
He said further: “Oba Odulana was committed to the development of anything Ibadan. He was not partisan but he showed preference for anything progressive. Ibadan witnessed a peaceful reign during his reign,” he added.
Speaking on behalf of the Olubadan in council, the Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Olufemi Olaifa thanked the youthful lawmaker for the visit, adding that they were following all his activities in the National Assembly. “We are all proud of you. Whenever we see you, you remind us of your father,” Olaifa asserted.
The youthful lawmaker also visited the Popoyemoja residence of Olubadan-designate, High Chief Saliu Adetunji to show his unalloyed support.
An elated Adetunji thanked and prayed for the lawmaker, adding that he was happy with the visit.
