The winner of the 2023 governorship election in Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has been sworn-in as the Kogi State Governor.
Ododo, a member of the All Progressives Congress(APC), took his oath of office as the fifth executive governor of Kogi State, at Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, on Saturday.
The new governor took over from his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, whose second term in office has elapsed.
The oath of office was administered on Ododo at exactly 2.30pm by the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Joseph Majebi.
His deputy, Salifu Oyibo, had earlier took his oath of office.
Speaking dodo assured residents of the state that he would make good his campaign promise to build on the sterling achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello, while preserving the unity of the state.
The governor appreciated his predecessor, Bello, for putting him through the path of governance, promising not to disappoint the people of the state.
He presented an award of service – Grand Conference Silver Service Star, to Bello.
The ceremony was graced by Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, among others.
