President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday addressed Nigerians on the COVID-19 development.
The president in a nationwide broadcast commended Nigerians for their level of endurance and urged them to adhere to the guidelines of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Here are the major highlights from the president’s address.
1. Ban on religious and social gatherings still in place
2. Lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Federal Capital Territory extended by one week.
3. From May 4, curfew will be imposed throughout the country from 8pm to 6am
4. Total lock down of Kano for two weeks with immediate effect
5. Phased and Gradual easing of lockdown measures begins in Lagos, Ogun and Federal Capital Territory on May 4.
6. State Governors may choose to adapt and expand on the lockdown measures based on their unique circumstances.
