Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has promised to employ 10,000 youths before leaving office on May 29, 2023.
Wike disclosed this while inaugurating OMPADEC road, off Igwuruta-Airport road, in Ikwerre, Port Harcourt, on Thursday.
The Rivers State governor said he has submitted the list of members of civil service commission to the state’s assembly to fast track promotion of civil servants.
“I will not support any policy that is against the interest of Nigerians.
“Just this afternoon, I submitted the list of members of civil service commission to the assembly, so that they can immediately start the promotion of civicll servants and also to start immediate employment.
“We have assured our youths that before we leave office, we will employ 5,000 of them, but because of what we are seeing around, I have increased it to 10,000,” he said.
