A former federal lawmaker, Hon Rotimi Makinde, has congratulated the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, on the occasion of his 69th birthday anniversary.
Makinde, who represented Ife Federal Constituency of Osun State in the 7th National Assembly, in a congratulatory message, described the former governor of Osun State as a rare gift to humanity.
According to Makinde, the minister has written his name in gold by always keeping to his promises, irrespective of emerging circumstances.
The Ife-born politician further described Oyetola as a very humble, versatile and dynamic leader, adding that the coming generation of politicians have a lot to learn from the minister.
“The immediate past governor of Osun State and Nigeria’s current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, is an outstanding nationalist and courageous democrat, who over the years, as governor of Osun State and now as a minister, continues to play key roles towards the unity, peaceful co-existence and development of our dear nation.
“He is a leader with excellent political dexterity and has effectively deepened our democratic practice for more transparent and productive governance. He is a man with great thoughts and exemplary attributes of commitment to service with enviable virtues which stood him out among his equals. I am confident to say he has written his name in gold by always keeping to his promises, irrespective of emerging circumstances.
“Lest we forget, Alhaji Oyetola’s leadership in Osun State epitomized steadfast effort, diligence and visionary approach to governance, which has marked him out as a public administrator par excellence.
“He has consistently displayed great leadership skills at various times in different capacities, just as he has hit the ground running as the new Minister of Marine and Blue Economy. Part of his unique ideals are that he is known for always displaying penchant for operating under an inclusive and participatory model of governance, with ambitious revitalization agenda as an uncommon public servant,” he said.
The former lawmaker used the occasion to pray for the minister.
“On behalf of my family, and mentees, I join your family and associates to congratulate you on the occasion of your 69th mentorship anniversary and I pray that you will continue to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our nation’s democracy and expand the frontiers of national service and economic prosperity. I wish you sound health, more success and greater honour in life . Happy Birthday, Your Excellency,” Makinde added.
