The Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) has trained over 250 OPay agents on how to enrol more interested persons on the scheme in the state.
The move, which is another smart step by the agency, was aimed at making quality healthcare accessible to residents.
Speaking at the training, the agency’s Executive Secretary (ES) Dr Sola Akande, said OYSHIA partnered with OPay to ensure that the scheme is taken to the doorstep of residents in all the nooks and crannies of Oyo State. OPay agents are present in all locations in the state.
He reiterated the agency’s readiness to ensure that no resident, irrespective of their social status, lacks access to quality healthcare.
Recall that OYSHIA recently partnered with Opay, a popular mobile money service provider, in order to eliminate the stress of visiting the its offices and enable prospective enrollees to register from the comfort of their homes.
Through the training, agents gained adequate Product Knowledge which will enable them educate potential enrollees and provide answers to any question they may have about the scheme. They were taken through technicalities involved in selling the scheme as well as the benefits of the scheme to enrollees.
Over 250 OPay agents attended the training which held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The agents have since started enrolling interested persons on the scheme through the OPay mobile app. People can also enrol on the app by themselves.
