Osun State Governor, Sen Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday, criticised stakeholders in the state over their failure to stand up and appreciate his kind gesture of spending the security vote on projects.
The governor spoke at the maiden edition of ‘Ipade Imole,’ an interactive session with indigenes of the state.
Adeleke had announced that upon his assumption of office, he was told that he had security vote of about N500 to N600 million. He said he told the state officials that he doesn’t need it and that the money should be redirected into developmental projects in the state.
He was, however, a bit displeased that stakeholders at the event did not express their appreciation about his decision.
The governor told the stakeholders that if it was in America he said something like that, people would have stood up and clapped for 20 minutes.
