Executive Secretary, Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), Dr Sola Akande, has encouraged pensioners who are yet to register for the health insurance scheme to do so as soon as possible in order to start benefitting from the state’s SAfER project.
Akande disclosed this in Ibadan at the weekend.
“Concerning the SAfER project that will bring on board 100,000 lives, especially the vulnerable groups, we would have the flag off in three to four weeks.
“I will encourage all our pensioners to begin to register if they have not registered before.
“Recall that the coverage for the pensioners we had in the first year does not go round because they have their own different ways of remittance of funds.
“But now that the Oyo State Government is going to pay for 2023/2024 enrollment and it will involve everybody, we have collated retirees across the state. Whether you are involved in the first part or not.
“We have about 40,000 lives by statistics. All of them should go to our nearest office and put down their statistics, especially those that are not part of the first. People that are part of the first round whose salary were deducted should be at peace because the data is with us,”he said.
